Cisco Firepower 2100 Modules

The Cisco Firepower 2100 Series supports several network modules that provide additional or different types of network interfaces. Specifically:

• The Firepower 2130 and 2140 models contain one network module slot for optional, removable I/O modules that offer optical or electrical network interfaces.
• Supported network modules for the Firepower 2100 series include:
  • 8-port 1-Gbps SFP network module (FPR2K-NM-8X1G)
  • 8-port 10-Gbps SFP+ network module (FPR2K-NM-8X10G)
  • 6-port 1-Gbps SX fiber SFP with hardware bypass (FPR2K-NM-6X1SX-F)
  • 6-port 10-Gbps SR fiber SFP+ with hardware bypass (FPR2K-NM-6X10SR-F)
  • 6-port 10-Gbps LR fiber SFP+ with hardware bypass (FPR2K-NM-6X10LR-F)
• The ASA software supports these modules starting from versions 9.9 or 9.10, depending on the module, but does not support hardware bypass functionality; the modules can be used as regular interfaces.
• The Firepower 2110 and 2120 models do not have network module slots.
• The network modules are single-wide and not hot-swappable.

These modules enhance the Firepower 2100 Series by providing flexible connectivity options, including copper and fiber interfaces at 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps speeds, with some modules supporting hardware bypass for fail-to-wire functionality.
