The Cisco Catalyst 9163E is an outdoor Wi-Fi 6E access point designed to deliver high-performance wireless connectivity in demanding environments such as campuses, stadiums, transportation hubs, and large public venues. Its weatherized enclosure and industrial-grade construction allow reliable operation in harsh outdoor conditions while supporting high-density wireless deployments.
The access point operates with tri-band Wi-Fi across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz spectrum. It includes three client-serving 2x2 radios, a dedicated IoT radio, and a tri-band scanning radio. The 6 GHz band provides wider channels, lower latency, and reduced interference, helping deliver faster and more consistent wireless performance. Outdoor standard-power operation in the 6 GHz band requires Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC).
