The Cisco C8131-G2 is a compact, secure router designed for small branch offices and distributed enterprise environments requiring reliable connectivity, advanced security and flexible network management. Part of the Cisco 8100 Series Secure Routers, the C8131-G2 combines hardware-accelerated networking with integrated security capabilities in an energy-efficient form factor.
The router supports both traditional autonomous routing and Cisco SD-WAN, providing flexibility for organisations deploying centralised, policy-driven connectivity across multiple locations. With a forwarding throughput of up to 1.9 Gbps, IPsec performance of up to 1.5 Gbps and SD-WAN throughput of up to 900 Mbps, the C8131-G2 is suitable for demanding small-site connectivity requirements.
The C8131-G2 provides six Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, including a combination of RJ-45 and SFP connectivity. The platform features 1 x 1GE RJ-45/SFP combo WAN interface, 1 x 1GE RJ-45 WAN port, 2 x 1GE RJ-45 flex ports and 2 x 1GE RJ-45 LAN ports. A dedicated RJ-45 console port and USB Type-C 3.0 interface provide additional management and out-of-band connectivity options.
With support for advanced routing, IPsec encryption, application-aware traffic management and security features, the Cisco C8131-G2 is well suited to small branches, retail locations, remote offices and IoT deployments. Its compact chassis supports desktop, under-desk, rackmount and DIN-rail/wall-mount installation options.
The C8131-G2 supports Cisco IOS XE and can be integrated with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager for centralised management, policy control and scalable branch networking.
