The Secure Firewall 4200 chassis features two network module slots, NM-2 and NM-3, located on the front panel. These optional, removable I/O modules enhance connectivity by offering additional ports or different interface types.
The FPR4K-XNM-2X400G, introduced in FTD 7.6 and ASA 9.22.1, enables 400-Gb operation and is compatible with 200-Gb, 100-Gb, and 40-Gb ports. This module supports two QSFP-DD transceivers, with ports labeled from Ethernet 2/1 to Ethernet 2/2.
For module replacement, hot swapping is permitted if the same type is used; however, a chassis reboot is required for recognition of a different supported module. Consult the operating system’s configuration guide for detailed management procedures.
