Cisco Part Number: N9K-X9636C-RX= is a 36-port 100 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP28 line card with TCAM (Spare)
The Cisco Nexus 9500 R-Series switching platform offers two modular chassis:
These chassis support Cisco Nexus 9500 R-Series line cards and fabric modules, delivering up to 9.6 Terabits per second (Tbps) per slot, totaling 76.8-Tbps in an 8-slot chassis. Both chassis offer line cards with 100-, 40-, 25-, 10-, or 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports. Additionally, the 8-slot chassis supports a line card with 400-Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The Cisco Nexus 9500 platform functions as a Clos fabric, directly connecting each line card to rear-mounted fabric modules. Traffic between line cards is load balanced across all fabric modules, ensuring optimal bandwidth distribution within the chassis. This load balancing enhances system reliability and redundancy. The switch can continue operating, even in the event of a fabric module loss, albeit at reduced capacity, as the remaining fabric modules still provide switching capacity to the line cards. Some line cards can connect to 1 or 2 additional fabric modules to offer N+1 or N+2 redundancy. All Cisco Nexus 9500 R-Series line cards including N9K-X9636C-RX= support deep buffers, and some support large tables, enabling various use cases.
