The Cisco C9550-96L4D is a high-density fixed core and distribution switch designed for demanding enterprise campus networks. Part of the Cisco C9550 Series Smart Switch family, it combines high-speed connectivity, large-scale routing, integrated security, telemetry and automation in a resilient 2RU platform.
The C9550-96L4D provides 96 SFP-based downlink ports supporting 50/25/10/1G connectivity, together with four high-speed QSFP-DD uplink ports supporting up to 400G. This makes the switch particularly well suited to consolidating multiple access switches and aggregating traffic into high-bandwidth campus backbone networks.
The C9550-96L4D is designed for campus edge, core and distribution deployments, as well as fabric border, aggregation and gateway applications requiring high IPv4 and IPv6 route scale. Its high port density enables organisations to consolidate several access-switch connections while maintaining substantial backbone capacity.
Powered by Cisco IOS XE, the platform supports model-driven programmability, streaming telemetry, automation, software patching and cloud-managed or on-premises operations. Its enhanced x86 computing resources and optional SSD also enable container-based applications to run directly on the switch.
